FAQ
Answers to the questions that matter.
What KeyLake can handle, how requests are scoped, what stays outside our role, and how recurring and one-time service work.
What does KeyLake actually do?
KeyLake is a local property-support operator for owners who are away. We provide recurring support and One-Time Service, including documented visits and other owner-authorized needs that are lawful, insured, properly scoped, within our competence, and safe to perform. When a request belongs with a specialist, we can coordinate an owner-approved provider instead when allowed.
Can I ask KeyLake to handle something other than a property visit?
Yes. Send us the need. We review it before promising the work. If KeyLake is cleared to perform it, we can scope and price it as One-Time Service. If it requires a licensed or otherwise specialized provider, we can coordinate the owner-approved provider when allowed. If neither path is appropriate, we decline that request.
What kinds of properties is it for?
Second homes, seasonal homes, vacant properties, homes in transition, and other places that spend meaningful time unattended. You do not have to disappear for six months to use KeyLake — the property just has to benefit from a reliable factual check-in.
Is this an inspection, security service, or property management?
No. Broad property support does not turn KeyLake into a licensed home inspector, guard or patrol service, emergency-response company, real-estate broker/property manager, claims adjuster, or licensed trade contractor. A request that crosses a regulated or uncleared boundary is coordinated with an appropriate owner-approved provider or declined instead of being improvised.
What do I get after a visit?
A clear report showing that the visit happened, what we observed, useful photos, and anything that may need your attention. The point is that you can understand the property without needing a phone call just to decode the report.
How does scheduling work?
Recurring visits happen within the agreed service window and frequency. Exact timing can move because of weather, roads, access, and route conditions. One-Time Service is scheduled from the approved scope, urgency, location, capacity, and any task-specific requirements.
How do you handle access, photos, and private information?
Sensitive access details are handled privately during setup, not through public website forms. Customer property photos are private by default and are not turned into ads or social posts without separate permission.
How do payments and service changes work?
Authorized invoices use the payment option provided with the KeyLake invoice. For changes, pauses, cancellations, or billing help, use the appropriate page on the site or contact us directly.
Where does KeyLake provide service?
We are expanding across Upstate New York. Check the Service Areas map or simply send us the property address. We will tell you whether KeyLake can currently serve it.
